STUDIO
Located in sunny Aruba, the Loretti Design Studio specializes in designing and creating sculptural, contemporary glass jewelry designs and small glass art objects with an artistic and creative expression.
Deborah de Weerd is the artist and creative force behind the Loretti Design Collection.
Studio visits and custom design requests welcome; whether just a chat, a glass blowing demo, to browse the collection or to enjoy a great cup of coffee :) .
PROCESS
Inquisitive and with a curious passion, new adaptations are explored to create flame-worked glass elements which are used as building blocks for the designs. By combining with leather, silver and stainless steel the glass elements form a synergy between construction and design.
Each Loretti Design creation is individually handcrafted and unique.
DESIGNER
Deborah de Weerd is the designer and creative force behind the Loretti Design Collections. The artist’s motivation is to create imaginative and evocative one-of-a-kind designs.
Based in Aruba for more than 2 decades, Deborah has engaged with the Arts from a very young age. Ultimately, Debby studied Visual Communication and Interior Textile Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht, The Netherlands. After her graduation she pursued a professional career designing product and colour collections for textile and furniture manufacturers in Europe.
A new passion was sparked when Debby was introduced to the art of glassblowing and flame working glass in 2009. Applying her design experience and creative curiosity she enthusiastically explores the possibilities of this magical and dualistic material called glass.
The artist’s keen eye for detail and sensitive sense of colour form integral parts of every one-of-a-kind Loretti Design creation.
